Melanie Ham was born in Sydney, Australia. She first performed on stage at the age of 13, where she co-choreographed a routine for a school production. Somewhat later, she started dancing Salsa in Perth with a local school known as Rapture Salsa Dance Academy.
Mel was bitten by the 'Latin Dance' bug! Consequently, she spent all her spare time improving to work towards becoming an instructor. She has performed locally, interstate and internationally. Mel prides herself on constantly trying to improve her own dancing & teaches others who are also willing to learn. Her specialty is LA Salsa as she started out dancing primarily on1. Although, now, is also an on2 dancer.
Mel enjoys partner work, styling, shines & social dancing. Because of Mel's love of travel, she often combines it with her love of dance, attending international dance festivals whenever & wherever possible. Mel also enjoys Bachata, Cha-Cha & Zouk. She is open to new styles & intends to study more in the future.
For her, dance is a way of life. It creates life long friendships, relationships & provides amazing connections! Dance allows for ultimate expression of the soul.
Mel is not currently teaching with a school at the moment but is available for private lessons.
