Bachata Caribbean Style

Judelius Thadeo Weverink, otherwise known as Judu learned bachata in Curacao in the Dutch Caribbean from the large Dominican population living there. When he was younger he used to love to go the very small Dominican clubs in Curacao known as snacks and watch people dancing bachata. These snack bars which become clubs at night only get going from about 3am so he would go home in the early hours of the morning and practice for hours the new steps he had seen and memorised.

Judu is a taxi driver, working from 5pm till 4am which has made his passion for learning at Dominican clubs possible!

He knows 4 languages: English, Dutch, Spanish and the native language of Papiamento.
